The staff at the front desk have been courteous and helpful, and the continental breakfast has been okay (hence the two star rating). The housekeeping could use quite a bit of work though.
Giving the place the benefit of the doubt, we didn't complain, figuring the housekeeper had a bad day. Since then (two days) the ice box liner has not been replaced, the soap (or the former resident's hair) has not been removed, sheets haven't been changed, garbage hasn't been emptied, microwave cannot be plugged in without placing it on the floor (the cord is too short), the walls are paper thin (you can hear the next room's tv like it's sitting in your room).
Visited the area with a large group of kids, staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, and rearrange rooms. The facility is a little older, but still very nice. The staff more than made up for any shortcomings in the facility.
Great place for the price you pay. GREAT view of the lake. Can go right out back and fish. Rooms are nice. I've had no complaints. Staff is super friendly too.
The room was not cleaned before we arrived. The beds were made, but the sheets were dirty, dried urine was on the toilet seat, and a bar of soap was sitting open in the tub (as well as a good amount of hair).
Nice big room. Clean. My only complaint is that it says it is a smoke free hotel except for designated outdoor areas. There were people smoking at the pool. I asked the lady at the front desk if this was one of the designated areas and she said that people can smoke anywhere they want outside. It doesn't really feel like a smoke free environment this way, if you can't take your child to the pool without exposing him to smoke.
I loved the view, the staff was so nice. My only complaint was too many spiders on deck, and in hallways of hotel. Very big ones, I would definitely stay again. If they get rid of the spiders. The view is AMAZING
