I made a reservation at the Bayshore Inn over Father's Day weekend so we could head to put-in bay. When we got there the place was so let go that we didn't even go in. The windows were boarded up on the one side and the outdoor pool was completely empty. Not to mention we paid $112.00 to stay one night there. It wasn't worth it at all. When we tried to get a refund they refused. Hopefully they will take their donation we gave them and get some windows and some water for their pool. I would suggest not to stay at this hotel. It is not worth the price.
***WARNING*** DON"T STAY HERE!!! I have stayed at many places around the United States and this one was easily the worst. I talked to the owner over the phone and he said if the room wasn't up to my standards that he would give me a full refund. We showed up there at about 2pm and were leaving only a half hour later. Also, he gave us a fake name over the phone. Besides that, once we got to look at the room there were BED BUGS and bed bug shells under the dirty stained mattress. The room was up to 85 degrees and smelled like mold. It looked like there were blood stains on the carpet and on the bed. It might have just been red wine or something but it was disgusting anyway. In the end, we had to make a dispute with our credit card company to get our money back. Seriously, if you need to stay in the Port Clinton area go to Our Guest Inn & Suites. It's around the same price and 1000% better in every way. Your a lot closer to the restaurants and the water too. The Bay Shore Inn was again the worst Motel I have EVER been to.
No bed bugs at all.. seems like someone had a problem. No problem now.
VERY DISAPPOINTING! To start the reservations go by first names.....what? They said they had no record until I gave them my full name. Then they only had 2 people when I put down 4 so I was charged an extra $20.00 (he gave me a $10.00 discount). 7 mosquitoes in the sink, drains were clogged along with the toilet which you had to flush twice! Room smelled, beds were hard as rocks, pillows were like paper and doors were stuck. Breakfast was 3 and coffee. And just in case I videoed the room so I wasn't charged for any extras or damages.
BED BUGS . The owner does not want to admit it even after you show him the bug shells on the spring box. The mattresses are dirty. We checked in at 1 am and we're out before 2 am , already had been bitten a time or two, and found reasonable accommodation a few miles up the street. You can't reason with the owner either , he raises his voice and claims every hotel has bed bugs and is nasty as his is. We didn't even care there were no amenities, we just wanted a place to rest for the night , and take a shower , it just needed to look clean. But it didn't. Avoid at all costs, it's not worth saving a few bucks, in the end you will move middle of the night like we did and pay more. Oh - no refunds for online bookings - which is apparent , since no one would want to pay if they saw the place in person. Hopefully Amex can do something about it.
