Campers Beware.. All I can say is dont even think about it!!! Even if this is your last resort for a campsite.dont do it...
I would rate 4 star but finger hit two star, great location, place always looks like it needs to be cleaned up though. Great fishing and the campers are always nice!
Stayed there recently on a ride through to Sandusky Ohio and had to leave after our camp site was vandalized, bicycle gear is getting to expensive to replace when you have some other people using your site as a play area , no respect for those who like to experience a peaceful bike ride across the country and lose most of your gear in a matter of minutes, called authorities and filed charges but other side was from out of town as well. Will not even think about using their camp ground again.
Just back from a 3-day camping at River Retreat. Best camping experience ever! The owner is so nice and the camping site is quite. Nice clean showers with hot water. Feel relax! Best part is the dock is right beside the river. Couldn't be easier to launch our jet skis. River view is fabulous!
This place is not where you should go to find nature. We got in late intending to tent camp. The owner was gracious enough, but it's all RVs and trailers. We were tucked under a lovely oak tree and lulled to sleep by trains and their whistles all night. I slept well on cold medicine. The restrooms were well kept. Affordable. Beware of a strict neighborhood watch.
